Hank Kwint (26 October 1951)
"I grew up in a brickyard in a family of boffins. After completing secondary school, I studied mechanical engineering. My first job was as a calibrator in the field of automatic control engineering. But I wanted to explore my more creative side, so I took an evening course in interior design. I ended up with a variety of different jobs in the furniture sector. My last job was as a salesman and interior architect at a modern home furnishings store. In 1983, I established my HANK KWINT DESIGN design firm. I started by producing and selling my own lamps. Through my contacts with various furniture manufacturers, I began designing furniture.
A number of those models are still in production 20 years later. I still design a lot of furniture, but also do interior designing for private homes and offices. And I design stands and company presentations several times a year. In fact, I design all kinds of different things. I designed my own home with a home office, for example, and am now working on a bike carrier.”
